Whether you’re helping out one-time or a few times a year, we love our volunteer groups! Here are some great ways to get involved.

Once you find an opportunity that interests you and your group, submit a request and the Volunteer Department will contact you as soon as they can!

COVID information: COVID vaccinations are required for all volunteers in order to keep everyone as safe as possible. We continue to practice on-site precautions, including social distancing, masks, additional cleaning, and limited occupancy.

Volunteering at our georgetown office

Location: 210 S. Lucile Street, Seattle, WA

Volunteers at our Georgetown location are part of our lively, bustling Lifelong operation! We utilize volunteers to support our mission for health equity, including promoting safe sex for our community and providing medically-tailored meals and groceries for clients who are seriously ill. Prepping food items and packaging meals, groceries, and essential items — are all examples of tasks you could do in any given shift.

Group Size: Up to 13 people. If your group is larger than 13, please contact the Volunteer Department at volunteer@lifelong.org.

Shift Times:

  • Monday - Friday: 9:30 am - 12 pm; 1:30 - 4 pm; 5:30 - 7:30 pm

  • Saturday: 10:30 am - 1 pm; 2:30 - 5 pm

Ages: Due to the nature of our volunteer tasks, our age minimum for volunteers is high school aged and older. Please note that we are only able to work with youth groups of high school aged and older. If you want to engage a younger group with the Lifelong mission, scroll to the bottom of this page to see those opportunities!

Once you submit a group request form, a member of the Volunteer Department will reach out with the next steps to confirm your group’s volunteer shift.

Group Food Delivery

Location: Various routes in King County

Have a book club? What about a running group? Want to get your church involved in service? As a delivery group, you would organize a team of people to deliver meals and groceries on a rotating schedule. Routes generally take 45-60 minutes to complete and on average, volunteers will deliver to 4-7 clients. And we ask for at least a 6 month commitment.

Volunteer delivery drivers are the heart and soul of our food program, delivering thousands of bags of groceries as well as meals each year to our clients. We recommend having at least a group of 5 or more for a rotating schedule.

Requirements: All volunteers must pass a background check, have reliable transportation and complete a training to be eligible. Ages 16-17 need two people on a route. Ages 18+ can drive alone.
