At first Tyler Juel was simply fulfilling a college requirement by volunteering once a week at Lifelong AIDS Alliance. But he quickly saw the impact that his time had on other people’s lives and pledged to do more to help people living with HIV/AIDS in our community.

“Each time I volunteer at Lifelong, I see passion being carried out in every board member, volunteer and staff member,” said Juel. “Lifelong truly embraces and executes its work to change lives for the better. How could I ever stop volunteering?”

Juel has long since graduated and continued to volunteer in almost every area of Lifelong’s work, from collecting groceries at Care To Shop food drives to distributing condoms at bars and bathhouses to selling merchandise at Gay Bingo.

“Lifelong represents hope,” said Juel. “Hope that our future generations will not have to live through the era of AIDS. Hope that one day in history books, AIDS will be something to look back on and learn from and remember how the world united and overcame an epidemic.”
