Being sexually active in this day and age is complicated. That’s why we at Lifelong offer a mutually-supportive environment for exploring issues and finding answers.
You may have questions about sexual activities, such as what's "safe" and what's not. You may have anxiety or fear about using condoms, getting an STD, or asking a partner his HIV status. If you are HIV negative, you may want to know how to stay that way. Or you may just want to talk with a non-judgmental person about your sex life.
Lifelong’s ONE2ONE program allows sexually-active Black men to discuss their feelings about sexual health in a safe environment where they receive one-on-one support.

Is ONE2ONE a research study?
ONE2ONE is not a research study. Although the structure is similar to a study, none of the information we collect will be used for research in any way.
What happens to the information collected?
Participants complete a computerized questionnaire with a staff person present. This questionnaire is reviewed by the ONE2ONE staff person working with you to create a starting point for dialogue about your sexual health. We also use this information to evaluate our own program for effectiveness. Your participation in this program is voluntary and you may refuse to answer any question at any time.
How much time will participating take?
The initial meeting usually takes 45 minutes to an hour at most. You may come in for up to three follow-up sessions, each taking about 45 minutes to an hour. Six months after our last follow-up meeting, we will contact you to come back to complete the questionnaire again. At that time, you will be again offered the chance to come back for up to three follow-up sessions.
What happens in a follow-up session?
The follow-up session is a chance for you to talk about topics that come from the questionnaire you completed or any related topic related to your sexual health. The agenda is geared towards creating a comfortable and open space for you to ask any questions or address any concerns you may be having related to your sexual behavior. We want to emphasize that these sessions are based on your priorities and needs and will flow in a direction that is most comfortable to you.
Who is eligible for ONE2ONE?
Sexually active Black men who have sex with men who are HIV-negative or do not know their HIV status. This does include men who identify as heterosexual and are having sex with men, as well as transgender persons. If you are not sexually active, but anticipate being sexually active in the next six months, you may participate if interested. Individuals who are not and do not anticipate being sexually active will probably not find ONE2ONE useful. Currently, we are not funded to serve women or heterosexual men who are not having sex with men.

You will receive a $20 Visa gift card for every meeting you attend with a member of the ONE2ONE staff.
